  • Would you like to know more about assistive technologies such as screen readers?

Enroll in CLB's Hands-on JAWS Training for Section 508 Compliance

What you will learn:

  • Experience first-hand how individuals who are blind or visually impaired use JAWS to interact with their computer.
  • Learn how to use JAWS to navigate web sites and software applications.
  • Find out tips for creating web sites and software applications to maximize their usability with assistive technology and exceed Section 508 guidelines.
  • Gain insight into the issues and challenges confronting computer users with disabilities.

JAWS for Windows is a widely-used screen reader that converts text to speech. During this session, you'll learn from an experienced CLB instructor how to use JAWS from the perspective of someone who is blind or visually impaired. JAWS training is hands-on, so you'll learn the keyboard commands and operational techniques to work with JAWS on your own after the training.

JAWS training is available in half-day, full-day, and multi-day sessions, depending on your needs. Classes are available on-site at your office or at CLB's Assistive Technology Center in Washington, DC. If you are interested in on-site training, JAWS should be installed prior to the training. CLB is a distributor of JAWS and can arrange for the sale and installation of JAWS at your work site.
