Local Training in our Riverdale, MD office

Through our national headquarters in Washington, DC, and our regional office in Riverdale, Maryland, CLB offers our results-oriented assistive technology training. Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind's state-of-the-art Assistive Technology (AT) Center delivers one-on-one or group training for more than 30 assistive devices and software packages.

Training courses include:

• Basic computer course: This 8-week course introduces students to Windows, Word Processing, using the Internet, and general office skills such as setting up files, copying, etc. An emphasis is placed on using the computer for employment needs. The basic computer course takes place at CLB. Course size is kept small so that students receive individualized attention from the instructor.
  
  
• One-on-one or group training on a variety of assistive devices and office software.
  
  
• Customized training for individuals or groups.
