Training and Seminars
Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind offers exceptional training and educational seminars on assistive technology for people who are blind or visually impaired. Our results-oriented curriculum covers more than 30 adaptive devices. We offer:
Software training on products like JAWS for Windows and ZoomText focus on teaching practical applications of assistive technology with Office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer. Hardware training on portable notetakers, Braille displays, and CCTVs focuses on teaching students how to get the most utility out of their equipment.
CLB’s trainers are experts in the field of assistive technology and impart their knowledge with engaging instruction and hands-on classroom exercises.
We have worked with federal agencies, state governments, schools, universities, private industry and individual consumers to deliver training. Some of our clients include:
