Career Services
The Career Services department ensures that all consumers who are visually impaired or blind who want to be employed have the skills, resources and necessary training to help them obtain a job and achieve success in the workplace.
CLB's career services department assists our consumers in obtaining jobs through various programs and services such as:

Vocational Assessments - determines specific career goals and provides information on the next steps in the consumer's career planning, based on the person's interests, needs, abilities, and functional limitations.

Employment Marketing Skills Training (EMST) - provides a curriculum structured six-week course designed to help consumers develop employment skills that include: interviewing, resume building, cold calling, marketing oneself, and addressing a disability with an employer.

Job Search and Placement Assistance - provides one-on-one counselling to assist job ready consumers in identifying career opportunities, completing resumes, cover letters, applications and interviewing tips.

Job Retention and Coaching - provides consumers with assistance in accomplishing their job duties once they have obtained employment. CLB will work closely with the employee as well as the supervisor.
Training takes place in our Silver Spring location.
