This winter, two donors continued their commitment to CLB and our clients by sponsoring the annual ski day to Ski Liberty in Fairfield, PA. Eleven participants with vision loss enjoyed a day of fun on the slopes. Each participant had adaptive ski guides who introduced them to the fundamentals of skiing.
One participant, Tracey Turri, shared, “Being given the opportunity to ski downhill was exhilarating! Feeling the skis glide over the ice, and the adrenaline rush as we picked up speed going down the hill was amazing! The feeling of being free though safe and supported by the excellent volunteers and staff was wonderful. Thank you to all the donors and staff who made this experience possible.”
Tony Cancelosi, President and CEO of CLB, shared his observation: “I had the opportunity to attend the ski trip and meet the skiers, most of whom had never been skiing. The participants expressed their gratitude and enthusiasm as they described it as an experience they could never imagine since their vision loss.
