Foundations of Adjustment to Blindness
CLB's flagship course for those experiencing vision loss helps participants learn orientation and mobility, assistive technology training, and independent living skills.
Foundations of Adjustment to Blindness (FAB) is CLB’s flagship course for individuals who are experiencing vision loss. Whether your vision has changed recently or over time, FAB helps you build the practical skills and the confidence to remain independent, active, and productive.
Participants learn orientation and mobility, assistive technology training, and independent living skills through hands-on instruction with CLB’s team.
What you will learn
- Orientation and mobility. Safety techniques and how to use a cane to travel with confidence, with hands-on practice in different environments including your home, workplace, and community.
- Assistive technology. Hands-on training in the tools, devices, and software that help you stay connected, keep working, and manage daily life.
- Independent living skills. Practical techniques for everyday tasks such as cooking, housekeeping, identifying money, and staying organized at home.
As a result of my attendance here, I now feel more confident. I feel that this is only the beginning. CLB do whatever it is that you need to do in order to ensure that this program continues. And if you want my recommendation, I would replicate this program nationwide.
